During the opening game of the 2024 postseason, Zion Williamson, a New Orleans Pelicans star player, left the field with around three minutes left on the clock. The 40-pointers’ Williamson motioned off the floor during a timeout in Castleton because he was getting uncomfortable.
After the game, Pelicans coach Willie Green non-committally mentioned left leg soreness as Williamson’s injury; however, Shams Charania from The Athletic Fame reported a hamstring problem was behind his problem, according to reports.

More scanning for Williamson is planned for Wednesday to discover the seriousness of the injury and determine when Williamson may return. The number and status of home country teams’ matches that of the opponents are still undetermined due to the uncertainties in full stadium attendance. Although the 8th seed upset the Warriors in last night’s playoff, the long-term outcome remains unpredictable.
While New Orleans wishes a quick recovery for this very spirited Zion, there is also a glimmer of motivation when Guillory tries to explain Williamson’s act of exiting the arena without a limp or any visible leg wrap; he, of course, stresses the word motivation.
Even though the Pelicans thought they would get Williamson back this season, the injury did cause a significant setback to their playoff ambitions. Aided by the wave of emotion and buoyant performances of Williamson and bunny man Jose Alvarado, the Pelicans found themselves within a 1-point drawing level with the Lakers, who were tied at 18 points up with just a 1-point deficit between them.
Zion walking out of arena and seems to be fine. And he seems to be in a good mood. We will know more tomorrow hopefully.

Williamson’s productivity, which included forty points, eleven rebounds, and five assists, demonstrated his two-way important role on the basketball court. But his untimely exit all but eliminated the entire waiting efforts of the Pelicans for a higher position.
Now, given that we could pull off the win tonight against the Kings and the Thunder are up these upcoming two rounds, we hope we would have a higher chance to be the Thunder’s first-round rival, as they don’t necessarily pose a problem to us too much. With that said, any game Zion Williamson participates in is a definitive bonus for the Pelicans, making Wednesday’s testing crucial for any potential updates.
