The much-anticipated NBA 2K25 has finally hit the shelves, sparking excitement among basketball enthusiasts worldwide. Known for its annual releases, the game has built a reputation for delivering thrills season after season, and this year is no different as Clyde Drexler still reigns supreme among the game’s top players.

Why Clyde Drexler Still Reigns Supreme in NBA 2K25 Despite Lillard’s Exit

This year, the Portland Trail Blazers are pegged as one of the weaker teams, a reflection of their real-life struggles. Yet, fans are flocking to the game, eager to elevate their team’s performance beyond reality.

As always, NBA 2K25 features iconic All-Time players for each franchise. Surprisingly, a former Trail Blazers legend has emerged as the highest-rated player in the game for Portland.

Clyde Drexler, the former Trail Blazers forward, has been rated a stunning 96 overall, making him the top-rated Blazers player in the game. Drexler, who dazzled Portland from 1983 to 1995 before being traded to the Houston Rockets, had a storied career.

Drexler’s move to Houston in pursuit of an NBA Championship paid off; the Rockets clinched the title in his first season with them. Although it was Drexler’s only championship, his legacy with the Trail Blazers remains significant. He is one of only three players in NBA history to surpass 20,000 points, 6,000 assists, and 6,000 rebounds. Remarkably, Drexler never missed the playoffs throughout his 15-year career.

Portland’s roster has featured many stars over the years, but Drexler holds a unique place in the franchise’s history. The recent trade of star point guard Damian Lillard has left a void that Drexler’s legacy still fills.

With Lillard’s departure, Portland is in the midst of a much-needed rebuild, leaving them struggling at the bottom of the league. Despite the challenges ahead, the team’s young core offers a glimmer of hope for the future.
