With San Antonio Spurs forward-center Victor Wembanyama and Oklahoma City Thunder forward-center Chet Holmgren stealing the spotlight, the 2023–24 NBA season has witnessed remarkable rookie performances. Both have been unanimously selected for the Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team. Every member of the global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters cast their first-team votes for these outstanding players.

Rising Stars Shine Bright

Wembanyama and Holmgren are again accompanied by First Team members Brandon Miller, the forward guard for the Charlotte Hornets, Jaime Jaquez Jr. for the Miami Heat, and Brandin Podziemksi, the Golden State Warriors guard. It is with great pleasure that we welcome these players to the team of the season due to their outstanding performance and hardworking spirit.

Clear indications of talent can also be seen in the members of the second team.

The Kia NBA All-Second-Team Rookie was also comprised of other players who also made their mark in their respective positions. Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II, Houston Rockets guard-forward Amen Thompson, Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George, Oklahoma City guard Cason Wallace, and Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson II are the other seven basketball players who are part of this team. Each displayed amazing talent and abilities on the pitch in their inaugural season as their team’s members.

Wembanyama’s Potential Historic Feat

Victor Wembanyama’s outstanding performance does not end with an honorable mention on the All-Rookie Team. He is sure to be at the All-Defensive Team, depending on the announcements to be made tomorrow Tuesday, while the All-NBA Team results are to be unveiled on Wednesday. While Wembanyama bags on such accolades, he would emulate Tim Duncan in 1998 and David Robinson in 1990 as the last rookies to receive such gifts. This will rank him with such great names as Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Hakeem Olajuwon, who are famed NBA Players.

A little preview of the future

About Wembanyama: It is not a surprise that two players from the G League were selected for the All-Rookie First Team; both of them are promising players full of potential and joy for the league. They continue to hope for their future contribution to their teams and for many people, they are considered to be among the next generation of the NBA.
