Ex-NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo is now a part of ESPN’s NBA analyst team. During the most recent episode of “NBA Today,” Oladipo was unveiled as the newest member of the network. His time as a player will now offer a new outlook to ESPN’s programming.
From Rising Star to NBA Journeyman
Oladipo started his NBA career when he was selected as the second overall pick by the Orlando Magic in 2013. Following a three-season stint with the Magic, he was subsequently traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and then to the Indiana Pacers. Oladipo excelled during his time with the Pacers, obtaining two All-Star nods, a position on the All-NBA Third Team, and the NBA’s Most Improved Player accolade.
Challenges with Injuries
Although Oladipo experienced a remarkable ascent, his career was frequently hindered by injuries. His stint with the Pacers came to a close when he was sent to the Houston Rockets as part of the James Harden trade in 2021. Next, Oladipo played for the Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Memphis Grizzlies, but he was still plagued by injuries that restricted his time on the court.
A New Role Off the Court
Following his release from the Grizzlies in 2024 and no other NBA team reaching out with a contract, Victor Oladipo decided to accept the opportunity to become a part of ESPN’s analyst panel. Throughout his career, he maintained an average of 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
