The Oklahoma City Thunder have transformed from a young team on the rise to favorites for the 2025 NBA Championship. After clinching the number one spot in the Western Conference and a productive offseason, OKC is building significant momentum as they approach the upcoming season.

Experts Back Thunder for Finals Run

In honor of Adrian Wojnarowski’s retirement, ESPN’s top insiders Adam Schefter, Jeff Passan, and Pete Thamel appeared on NBA Today to make predictions for the upcoming Finals. All three anticipated that OKC would reach the NBA Finals, much to the excitement of Thunder fans. Schefter and Passan predicted that they would win the championship by beating the New York Knicks. While Thamel foresaw OKC losing to the Boston Celtics.

Schefter went on to say that if the Thunder were to win the championship. He would humorously consider applying for Wojnarowski’s position as the upcoming NBA insider. This lighthearted wager demonstrated his strong belief in the Thunder’s chances of winning the championship.

A Star-Studded Thunder Roster

The Thunder has a roster full of talented favorites. Moreover, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams make up one of the most exciting trios in the NBA. Furthermore, the squad has been made even stronger with the additions of Isaiah Hartenstein and Alex Caruso this summer, solidifying them as strong contenders.

Having a solid foundation and important supporting players established. The Thunder are prepared to contend for their inaugural NBA championship since moving to Oklahoma City in 2008. Moreover, with the 2024-25 season on the horizon. There is increasing excitement surrounding OKC as they prepare for a successful postseason.
