Being a member of the Boston Celtics, Sam Hauser had an incredible game which was a huge contribution to the team’s victory against the Washington Wizards by making most of his 3-Point shots breaking one of the records in 3-Point books in the Celtics’ history.
Although the Thunder fell 130-104, Hauser succeeded in showcasing his crisp shooting precision by completing 7 3-pointers in the first half of the game. He was the only one in the league to do so in the period shared by Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Kemba Walker who were the top three 3-point shooters for the Celtics.
Tinto’s shooting frenzy sprung from the off, where in the first quarter he knocked down an incredible 4 makes from behind the arc. Tinto’s shooting persisted throughout the third quarter, where he completed another three 3-pointers just as quickly. He came to be the 3rd player on the roster to ever surpass the 10 3-point mark in a single game with this feat, joining the likes of Schroder and Marcus Smart, the all-time franchise leader among all players. Besides, it was not Hauser’s left ankle that twisted on his 13th 3-point shooting attempt but he still could have broken Smart’s record.
Irrespective of coming out of the game with an injury, Hauser clinched a career-high of 30 points in the game, with 10 of his 13 shots resulting in a phenomenal 3-point percentage of over 76% in only around 23 minutes of playing time.
All teammates, overwhelmed by his historic performance, laid Hauser with numerous add-on phrases of praise. Off guard Patty Mills described Hauser as one league’s top shooters and mentioned the team’s emphasis on finding him space to shoot because of his reliable shooting ability.
After their victory against Boston, veteran big man Al Horford spoke favourably of Hueru, remarking on how his scoring functioned well within the offensive cadence of the team. Horford mentioned how good to have observed Hauser shooting and he wished he could have broken both the Celtics’ record and that of the entire NBA, in terms of the 3-pointer, in a game.
Hauser’s comrades then tried to keep him engaged and they did so by making the efforts to maximize his hot hand in the game. Tatum and Holiday tried to find Hauser, who has a scoring attitude, in scoring positions. His excellent night is directly linked to their successful finding of him.
However, Hauser’s performance which was something to write about became prudent as a concern for his health was much urgent after the thrilling game. Joe Mazzulla, Boston’s head coach, commented that Hauser was initially checked by doctors and there is a possibility that he may not be able to play in the upcoming game against the Detroit Pistons. This can be a trouble for the Celtics as it might affect their lineup.
