The Phoenix Suns were roughed up in a Game 2 loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which was just because they had fewer chances against the Timberwolves in the first-round playoff series. Furthermore, the trouble for the Mavericks prolonged with Grayson Allen, a starting guard, in the 3rd quarter of the game, who re-injured his right ankle, which he had injured earlier in the season, and was unable to return to the next portion of the game.
When coach Frank Vogel of the Suns shared with the media that the X-ray results didn’t raise significant concern, it brought some ease, but with Foligno awaiting a response from the medical personnel and the team headed to Game 3 on Friday, his status remains day-to-day.

Although Allen isn’t a big-name scorer through the series right now, his definite absence is the case where the Suns miss a fantastic 3-point shooter, where the tightening of the Timberwolves’ defence, especially on Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, would be more difficult. The standout point-winning statistics of 1st place shooting percentage in the regular season, i.e., Allen, were a testament to the offensive spacing the team gained.
The Suns are in the pits of a deeper hole, with the history of post-season series proving that they are not very likely to overcome a 0-2 series deficit. Again, the defensive efforts of the T-wolves, especially as evidenced by Rudy Gobert’s protection of the rims, have frustrated the Sun’s efforts to score goals, causing them to seem powerless in moving the ball freely and susceptible to excessive defence.
Allen could be missing in action in Game 3, which further worsens the Suns’ offensive difficulties as they may have trouble recreating the blackouts and substitutes against the aggressive Timberwolves’ defenders.
