Steph Curry Jokes About Being Jealous After Klay Thompson Took Pics with New Teammate, Klay Thompson has been moving his fantastic skills around the hardwood for the Golden State Warriors. However, he has joined the Dallas Mavericks to team up with the star Luka Doncic. Having spent a decade with the Warriors, Thompson aided the franchise in capturing four NBA championships, playing a very crucial part in one of the most successful eras in NBA history. He still holds several records that include the most points in a quarter. Moving forward, Thompson’s presence will continue to be felt within the Bay Area for many years. His number 11 jersey will most likely be retired by the Warriors someday in respect of his contributions to the team.

Curry and Klay’s Enduring Bond

People labeled Steph Curry and Klay Thompson as the “Splash Brothers,” widely regarded as one of the most feared shooting backcourt duos in NBA history. On the court, the two possessed legendary chemistry. With records between them such as the most three-pointers made by a duo in one postseason, standing at 98, their friendship has blossomed off the court much as their professional pairing did. Of course, even the strongest of friendships isn’t completely immune to little instances of jealousy.

Recently, Curry said he felt a little mischievous discomfort as he watched Klay cozied up chatting with Mavericks rookie Dereck Lively courtside at a WNBA game. Steph Curry jokes as Klay continues to bond with Lively during the game between the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty, Curry interrupts the dialogue, grimacing and playfully yelling, “Eww.” It was one of those light-hearted moments, but the moment brought into view the bond Curry and Klay have shared on the court for more than a decade.

The Warriors’ Era Draws to a Close

The end of Thompson’s tenure in California saw him move to Dallas; Curry and Draymond Green remain as the last two men standing of those who lifted the title in 2015. They have signed Buddy Hield in an attempt to try to make amends for the loss left by Klay’s absence, but this will be hard to recover given his importance in the team during these last few years. His last game donning the Warriors uniform wasn’t one for the books, going scoreless in an elimination playoff game against the Sacramento Kings, but his legacy with the franchise is doubtless.

With the Mavericks, Klay will likely fall to third in the offensive pecking order behind Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Much like in Golden State with Kevin Durant, Thompson will excel as defenses focus on his star teammates, making him a nightmare for opponents to deal with in Dallas. For Klay, this move is a fresh start, but for Curry, it’s the bittersweet end of an iconic pairing.
