Perkins Points Fingers

The Phoenix Suns’ recent nosedive in performance has left basketball aficionados scratching their heads, including none other than Kendrick Perkins, known for his no-holds-barred commentary. Following their humiliating 128-103 loss to the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander-depleted Oklahoma City Thunder, Perkins took to the digital streets, suggesting a rather eyebrow-raising theory behind the Suns’ downfall. Perkins points fingers at the Suns’ leadership and coaching staff, hinting at potential turmoil within the team’s inner workings.

The speculation regarding the public was deepened by Perkins’ remarks touching up on another legitimate aspect of the situation. Whether the Suns are dealing with a steady decline or there is some hidden secret to push out Vogel is now under discussion. They sounded like a spark that launched a wildfire of hypothesis, stirring a heated discussion among the professional sports community.

Despite not having his Thunder’s best player on the floor, the Suns could not face up the task to keep their leadership in the tightly race division, the Western Conference. It must be surprise that Phoenix were still able to win the best 2 star-studded suburb. While it started out as great basketball game with Suns winning every quarter, what ensued was nothing short of a basketball disaster with the Suns being outclassed in every period of the game.

In the first, Kevin Durant was the best player who put up a decent fight, however for Devin Booker and Bradley Beal things take a different turn. Both of them shot no better than 10 for 22. Though veteran Eric Gordon performed, he could not settle and the Suns woes, owing to his not productive play, continued.

Facing the unquestionable perception of a looming playoff, the Sun’s abisymal performance against a formidable opponent has raised serious doubt as to their post-season potential. After a hot streak, they are now in the thick of things vying for a ticket to the play-in game tournament, and their performance is not the only worrisome factor.

Suns’ kingdom of dreams laid a firm foundation today, on this day the story of their fall begins. ‘Phoenix’, which had a strong beginning following major signings such as ‘Nurkic’ and ‘Beal’, is now ashes blowing into the winds as it was once preseason favorites. Beals fleeting comes and goes, a victim of the injuries, causes even more struggles as their hidden talent leaves in plain sight with the line-up.

Even though Beal has returned to the court and performed well, it is evident that the Suns have dipped in their game. They have been struggling to contend with other Western Conference opponents, losing their grip on a top spot. Now, once among the top 3, they are settling in seventh position and they could easily be relegated in the event that the Lakers find their form again.

As the season is ending the Suns are on the edge of a crossroads as they are losing the games successively. At such stage of the season, they would have to summon all their fighting spirit, financial resources, and luck to achieve an unexpected bounce back. As playoffs draw near PHX must regain and dry off their tears and overcome all adversaries including their own demons.
