Payton Pritchard, having inked a $30 million, four-year extension with the Celtics, expressed his relief after the preseason victory against the 76ers. He delivered an impressive performance, netting 26 points on a 9-for-14 shooting, including six successful 3-pointers out of 11 attempts, along with four assists in just 23 minutes of play during the Celtics’ 114-106 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in their preseason opener.
ESPN initially broke the news about Pritchard’s contract extension, and the Celtics’ guard confirmed the signing after the game. Payton Pritchard shared, “Signing it felt like a weight off my shoulders, a sense of security. That was my mindset – to secure something.”
In addition to Pritchard’s standout performance, Jaylen Brown contributed 19 points, shooting 7-for-10, while Kristaps Porzingis added 17 points, and Jayson Tatum recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Boston Celtics.
