While on The OGs Show podcast, Heat president Pat Riley shared his disappointment when reflecting on the situation. Riley expressed regret that they couldn’t maintain the Heat, admitting it was a missed chance. He thought the three of them could win “five or six championships” if they stuck together.

LeBron’s Departure Ends the Big Three

LeBron James’ return to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 marked the end of the Big Three’s supremacy. His leaving made the Heat reorganize with Wade and Bosh as the focal point.

Bosh’s Health Battles and Retirement

Chris Bosh’s career in Miami was looking bright but was unfortunately ended prematurely by recurring blood clots that first took him out in the 2014-15 season. In 2017, health problems forced him to end his time with the Heat and retire in 2019, despite his desire to come back. Miami paid tribute to his achievements by officially taking his No. 1 jersey out of circulation.

Wade’s Rocky Relationship with Miami

Franchise figure Dwyane Wade also encountered difficulties with the Heat. Wade departed in 2016 from feeling unappreciated and later joined LeBron in Cleveland. Nevertheless, he came back to Miami to end his career on a high note.

Chasing New Glory

The Heat faced high expectations during the Big Three era. Even though they made it to the NBA Finals in 2020 and 2023, Miami still strives to achieve the same championship success they had in the past. Fans hold the memory of LeBron, Wade, and Bosh’s legacy dear.
