The Indiana Pacers demonstrated their ability to bounce back by narrowly defeating the Boston Celtics 135-132 in a rematch of the Eastern Conference Finals. Even though they lost a 24-point lead, Indiana managed to secure an important victory at home in overtime. Bennedict Mathurin made a huge impact as a substitute with 30 points and 11 rebounds, while Pascal Siakam’s 29 points and 11 rebounds were crucial at the end of the game.

Celtics Rally Behind Tatum’s Heroics

Jayson Tatum almost led the Celtics to a win with an exciting comeback, scoring 12 points in the last quarter out of his total of 37. Trailing by 21 points with less than nine minutes remaining, Boston made a comeback, as Tatum’s crucial free throws and a step-back three-pointer evened the score at 124, leading to overtime.

Siakam and Haliburton Seal the Deal

During overtime’s last minutes, Siakam excelled, making a fadeaway shot to even the score at 132 and scoring a three-pointer with only 6.1 seconds remaining. Jaylen Brown’s last shot for Boston was off target, allowing Indiana to seal the victory as Tyrese Haliburton smartly managed the clock.

A Bounce-Back Win for Indiana

Morale of Pacers gets a boost from this victory against Celtics following a difficult 1-3 beginning. The 2-3 Pacers will aim to gain momentum as they travel to New Orleans to play against the Pelicans on Friday. In the meantime, the Celtics, who are currently 4-1, get ready for consecutive games in Charlotte.
