Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Joseph has also gained recognition on a global level. He played for the Canadian National Team in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. Joseph spent a single season playing college basketball at the University of Texas before joining the NBA. In his first year of college, he played in 36 games, with an average of 10.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.03 steals in 32.4 minutes per game. He secured a position on the 2010-11 Big 12 All-Freshman Team with his outstanding performance.
