According to reports, the Charlotte Hornets are beginning to look elsewhere to fill the void left by the absence of their star swingman as Miles Bridges’ situation is still uncertain following his arrest. They are considering the reunion of the veteran point guard, Isaiah Thomas, who appeared in 17 matchups last season, averaging 8.3 points per game.
Shams Charania on Monday reported that “Sources tell me that the Hornets are considering a reunion with former franchise cornerstone Kamba Walker. The team is also interested in the potential re-signing of Isaiah Thomas, who had strong play the last season and emerged as a positive locker room presence
The Hornets have a potential need for another reverse point guard and is expected to be patient in its roster moves as the team monitors the legal process of restricted free agent Miles, who faces felony charges for domestic violence and child abuse.”
Only a few years ago, Isaiah Thomas was one of the top point guards in the league. He was Boston’s leading point scorer, averaging 24.7 points per game, and helped them reach the postseason. Although he has lost his shine somewhere after sustaining a hip injury in the 2017 playoffs, he can still provide enough spark to keep the Hornets competitive.
