Formally NBA legend Charles Barkley apologizes to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. The Denver Nuggets often don’t receive the level of respect they rightly deserve, and no one understands this better than Charles Barkley.
Charles Barkley Apologizes to Nikola Jokic and The Denver Nuggets
During the promotion of opening night, NBA on TNT featured a graphic that included LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum. However, a significant issue emerged: Jayson Tatum wasn’t even scheduled to play on opening night, while the Denver Nuggets were. Surprisingly, none of the Denver Nuggets were showcased in the graphic, despite boasting a two-time NBA MVP, the NBA Finals MVP, and being the current NBA Champions.
Once Charles Barkley learned about this omission, he swiftly issued an apology.
“You sent me that graphic and I showed it to Ernie [Johnson] and we just want to apologize to the Nuggets, Joker and the city of Denver,” Barkley stated. “That’s completely stupid not having Joker on that graphic. I mean, we’re here all day!”

It’s unjust to blame Charles Barkley for the oversight regarding the Denver Nuggets in the graphic. In fact, Barkley has been one of the foremost advocates for the Nuggets since last season. He was the lone analyst who predicted they would clinch the top seed and consistently hailed them as the best team in the NBA throughout the season. If anyone has been giving the Denver Nuggets the recognition they deserve, it’s Charles Barkley.
