Multiple Lakers Players Unavailable for Preseason Clash Against Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers will find themselves shorthanded in their third preseason matchup against the Kings in Anaheim. Head coach Darvin Ham revealed before the game that Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Cam Reddish will all be sidelined for the game.

Adding to the list, LeBron James had already been ruled out after Tuesday’s practice session.

Starting with Reaves, this marks the second preseason game he’s missed, although it’s not a cause for concern in the long run. The Lakers are taking a cautious approach with his playing time this preseason, especially after his involvement with Team USA over the summer.

As for Anthony Davis, this is his first absence in the preseason, and there don’t appear to be any injury concerns at this stage.

However, both Vanderbilt and Reddish are unavailable due to injuries. Vanderbilt’s situation may be more precautionary, as there didn’t seem to be a specific injury incident during the first game, but he has now missed the last two games. On the other hand, Reddish sustained an ankle twist in the first game and has been out of action since then.

The Lakers still have three more preseason games following Wednesday’s contest, providing ample time to get their players back up to speed before the regular season kicks off. With the first regular-season game nearly two weeks away, there’s no immediate sense of urgency.

In the meantime, the game against the Kings will present opportunities for young players such as Max Christie, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Maxwell Lewis to showcase their talents.
