Indiana depended on standout efforts from Bennedict Mathurin and Tyrese Haliburton to achieve a significant victory following a difficult defeat in Charlotte. Injuries did not hinder the Indiana Pacers on Sunday as they defeated the New York Knicks 132-121 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Career Night for Mathurin

Third-year guard Bennedict Mathurin tallied a personal best of 38 points, shooting 13-for-18 overall and 7-for-9 from three-point range. His influence went beyond just scoring; with the game tied in the fourth quarter, Mathurin executed essential hustle plays, featuring a chase-down block and a putback that energized the audience. “Honestly, he’s simply carrying out his usual work,” Haliburton commended.

Haliburton’s All-Around Excellence

Tyrese Haliburton had his best performance of the season with 35 points and 14 assists, recovering from a subdued game in Charlotte. He drove into the paint consistently, creating opportunities for his teammates and assisting with five three-pointers in the last minutes of the game. “Coach Rick Carlisle praised, ‘Tyrese was outstanding in this game.'” “I can’t recall ever seeing him this determined.”

Teammates Step Up in the Fourth

Myles Turner contributed 26 points, with 18 coming in the second half, and made several three-pointers late in the game. Pascal Siakam added 14 points and energetic plays in the fourth. As Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard made crucial shots to maintain Indiana’s advantage.

Indiana’s solid team collaboration and the outstanding performances of Mathurin and Haliburton propelled the Pacers to a remarkable victory. Demonstrating resilience and a winning spirit despite a roster affected by injuries.
