The Sacramento Kings selected Bagley second overall in the 2018 NBA draught on June 21, 2018, behind his former high school teammate Deandre Ayton. He signed a rookie scale deal with the Kings on July 1, 2018.

The Sacramento Kings announced on December 4, 2020 that they have exercised their option on Bagley. After failing to reach an agreement on a contract extension before the start of the 2021–22 season, the Kings informed Bagley that he would not be a part of the rotation.

Detroit Pistons (2022–present)

Bagley was moved to the Detroit Pistons on February 10, 2022, as part of a four-team deal that also included Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Jackson, and Trey Lyles.
