Magic's Suggs and Anthony Recreate Iconic Dunk in Win Over Wizards, Pursue Franchise Record

Check out: Jalen Suggs and Cole Anthony replicate LeBron James-Dwyane Wade dunk during Magic’s victory over Wizards

The Orlando Magic have secured their eighth consecutive win and seem to be echoing the essence of the 2009-10 Miami Heat. Specifically, Jalen Suggs and Cole Anthony recreated the famous dunk between LeBron James and Dwyane Wade during Wednesday night’s match against the Washington Wizards.

In the fourth quarter of the Magic’s 139-120 win against the Wizards, with a 19-point lead, Suggs intercepted a pass around mid-court, setting up a 2-on-1 opportunity. He lofted a pass over his head to Cole Anthony, who then executed a powerful one-handed slam.

As Suggs released the pass, he extended his arms and posed for the cheering crowd, resembling a near-perfect imitation of the iconic December 2010 moment when Wade delivered a pass to James for a spectacular dunk against the Milwaukee Bucks. The slight variation was Suggs using a lob while Wade had used a bounce pass. However, this deviation was forgivable given the stellar recreation.

This spectacular play by Suggs and Anthony electrified the audience at the Amway Center. Suggs expressed his excitement about witnessing the venue’s vibrant atmosphere after a prolonged period.

“It’s amazing,” said Suggs. “Since we arrived, we’ve been hearing consistently how much this city has been waiting for us to step up and gain their support. We’ve experienced some challenging times. Boogie and I have been here for almost three years now. We’ve seen this arena alive, but we’ve also witnessed it silent. We’ve had winning streaks and losing streaks.”

“Staying focused, understanding it’s a journey, and taking it one day at a time. When you consistently put in the effort, it eventually pays off. I believe it’s the culmination of all the hard work we’ve been putting in both on and off the court,” Suggs added.

The Magic aim to equal their franchise record with a ninth consecutive win in their upcoming game against the Wizards on Friday night.
