Due to a hamstring injury, Norman Powell, the top scorer for the Los Angeles Clippers, will be absent for the next two games. Powell, who has been consistently strong on offense this season, will be absent for the games against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday and the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Powell Suffers Hamstring Setback

Powell suffered the injury in the victory over the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Despite coming back in the second half, he only played for 26 minutes, which is his lowest this season. Coach Tyronn Lue officially announced that the team has opted to provide Powell with additional rest ahead of a difficult four-game road trip that kicks off in Philadelphia on Sunday.

From October 26 to November 11, he scored 20 points in ten straight games, with an average of 26.9 points per game. The Clippers have relied heavily on his reliability, especially with Kawhi Leonard still sidelined with knee problems.

Lue stressed how crucial it is for Powell to recover, stating, “It’s essential for him to be well in the long term.”
