While LeBron James remains impressive, some recent inconsistencies have raised questions about his future. LeBron James is in his 22nd NBA season, matching Vince Carter’s record for the longest career in league history. As he approaches 40, fans and analysts are speculating whether this could be his final season.

Draymond Green Defends the King

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green believes fatigue, not decline, is behind James’ dip in form. “Father Time catches up to everyone,” Green admitted on The Draymond Green Show. “But people saying he’s done? I disagree. What I see is a little tiredness.” Green pointed to James’ grueling schedule, including last year’s playoff push and participation in the Olympics, as factors contributing to his exhaustion.

Green dismissed retirement talk, asserting, “No chance. This is just a small wall he’s hit.”

Jeff Teague and Kendrick Perkins Weigh In

Former NBA guard Jeff Teague sees signs of age catching up with James. On the Club 520 Podcast, Teague speculated that LeBron could be planning a dramatic exit. “He might retire after this year. He’s probably recording a documentary about it. I can’t see him having a year where he’s not top 20 in the league.”

Kendrick Perkins also fueled speculation after James’ subpar showing against the Timberwolves. The Lakers’ star managed just 10 points on 4-of-16 shooting in a blowout loss. Perkins tweeted, “It’s looking like this just might be Bron’s last season.”

What’s Next for LeBron?

While fatigue and age are undeniable factors, James’ resilience and drive make it difficult to predict his next move. Whether this season marks his farewell or just another chapter, LeBron continues to captivate fans and fuel debate about his enduring legacy in future.
