Even with initial energy from Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson ,the Utah Jazz began with a solid performance but ultimately lost 123-100 to the Milwaukee Bucks. Head coach Will Hardy recognized the difficulty, stating, “Milwaukee’s toughness affected the game.”
Hot Start Fizzles Out
The Jazz started strong, making seven three-pointers in the opening quarter. Johnny Juzang was at the forefront with two 3-pointers, as Utah’s bench contributed a solid 20 points to maintain the team’s competitiveness. The Jazz maintained this momentum into the second quarter, establishing a double-digit advantage with a 16-4 surge and heading into halftime leading 61-57.
Third-Quarter Woes Return
Regrettably, Utah’s problems in the third quarter persisted, with the Jazz scoring only 16 points and hitting just 1-of-9 from three-point range. Six turnovers allowed the Bucks to seize control, beating the Jazz 31-16 to establish an 88-77 advantage. Hardy acknowledged, “We need to tackle the turnovers and instances where we accumulate many in succession.”
Bench Production Remains a Bright Spot
Utah’s reserves remained effective, contributing 56 points. Clarkson brought back 18 points, Juzang provided 12, and John Collins contributed 11. This depth allowed Utah to stay competitive initially, but it fell short as Milwaukee distanced itself in the final quarter.
Even with the defeat, Lauri Markkanen remained optimistic, stating, “We continue pushing forward and aim for the next victory.” By maintaining steady bench support and enhanced handling in the third quarter. The Jazz hope to capitalize on the positives as the season moves forward.
