Coming off their recent victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, the 18-19 Los Angeles Lakers aim to extend a winning streak, Absent Poeltl kicking off with their Tuesday showdown against the Toronto Raptors.
In a bid to reach the .500 mark, the Lakers target a victory against an undermanned Raptors squad.
As indicated by Raptors team reporter Josh Lewenberg, the Raptors will be missing their starting centre, Jakob Poeltl.
Absent Poeltl is attributed to an ankle sprain sustained during their Sunday clash against the Golden State Warriors. Despite his injury, he showcased a strong performance in the victory, contributing 14 points while shooting an impressive 75%, along with securing 11 rebounds and five assists within 31 minutes of gameplay.
Throughout the current season, Poeltl has held consistent averages of 10.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists for the Raptors. This absence presents a significant advantage, not only for the Lakers but particularly for their star center, Anthony Davis. With Poeltl sidelined, Davis is poised for a dominant performance against the Raptors, amplifying the Lakers’ advantage in the absence of their opposing big man, potentially leading to a favorable outcome for the Lakers.
