La La Anthony, the former wife of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, couldn’t contain her pride as her son, Kiyan Anthony, delivered a standout performance at the NBPA Top 100 camp. The young basketball prodigy scored an impressive 42 points, showcasing his talent against some of the top high school prospects in the country. La La took to Instagram to celebrate her son’s achievement, sharing a picture of Kiyan holding a paper with the number “42” written on it.

“42 points!!!! 😱😱😱😱 keep going crazy baby,” La La Anthony proudly captioned the post on Instagram.

Kiyan Anthony is currently a part of the 2025 class at Long Island Lutheran High School in Glen Head, New York. At 17 years old, he stands six-foot-five and weighs 185 pounds. According to 247Sports, Kiyan is a four-star prospect and ranks as the ninth-best shooting guard in his class and 57th overall in the Class of 2025. His impressive performance at the NBPA Top 100 camp is just one of many in a string of standout games that have caught the attention of top NCAA Division 1 schools.

Kiyan Anthony has already received offers from several prestigious schools, including UCF, Syracuse, Maryland, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Florida, Arizona State, and Ohio State. Despite the numerous offers, Kiyan has expressed a strong desire to play for Syracuse, the alma mater of his father, Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo led Syracuse to its first NCAA championship in 2003, and the school extended an offer to Kiyan in October 2023.

Kiyan’s recent performances have been nothing short of stellar. Last month, he scored 28 points for Team Melo in the Nike EYBL, with his father and NBA superstar LeBron James in attendance. He continued his impressive run with 28 points against Pro Skills Elite on May 18th and followed up with a 25-point performance versus the PSA Cardinals a week later. Kiyan’s consistency and high-level play have solidified his status as a top prospect in his class.

In a light-hearted moment earlier this year, La La Anthony was left in shock during a Q&A with her son Kiyan on Complex Sports. When asked who he considered the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), Kiyan surprised his mother by naming Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George instead of his father, Carmelo Anthony. La La, visibly surprised, playfully exclaimed, “Are you serious? I am leaving. When are you going to say your dad’s name?” before throwing cards at her proud son. Kiyan later included Kobe Bryant and his father, Carmelo, in his top three GOATs.

La La and Carmelo Anthony’s marriage, which lasted 11 years, ended in 2021. The couple initially separated in 2017 but had an on-and-off relationship before finalizing their divorce. They were engaged on Christmas Day in 2004 and married in 2010. Despite their separation, both La La and Carmelo have remained supportive co-parents, celebrating their son’s achievements together.

From a journalistic standpoint, Kiyan Anthony’s journey is a fascinating narrative of legacy and potential. His performances not only reflect his individual talent but also the influence of his father’s storied career. La La Anthony’s public celebration of her son’s success highlights the supportive family dynamics that continue to play a crucial role in Kiyan’s development as a player and a person.

As Kiyan Anthony continues to make waves in high school basketball and beyond, his journey will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike. His potential to follow in his father’s footsteps and create his own legacy in the sport is a compelling story that captures the essence of talent, hard work, and family pride.
