Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd has provided Kyrie Irving injury update settling the concerns. The 2022-23 season marked a rare playoff miss for the Mavericks, and it was largely attributed to injuries to key players like Irving and Luka Doncic.

Kyrie Irving Injury Update

Despite the offseason break for recovery, injury concerns continue into the preseason, particularly for Irving. He recently missed a preseason game in Abu Dhabi, and it appears he won’t be participating in Dallas’ game against Real Madrid in Spain due to left groin soreness, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

The positive aspect is that the Mavericks don’t seem overly worried about Irving’s availability for the regular season. They are cautious not to risk further injury during preseason exhibitions, understanding the importance of having their star guard at full strength for a successful campaign in the Western Conference.

Kyrie Irving, who was acquired by the Mavericks from the Brooklyn Nets last season, made an immediate impact alongside Doncic. In 20 games with the team, he averaged 27.0 points and 6.0 assists per game, shooting efficiently at 51.0 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from three-point range. Dallas had an 8-12 record with Irving on the court.

The Mavericks have faced two preseason losses to the Minnesota Timberwolves overseas and Irving played 14 minutes in their first game, contributing two points, two assists, and a block while shooting 1-6 from the field.
