Career Highlights
All-NBA 3rd Team (2016)
Kyle Lowry is a professional basketball player from the United States who is currently playing for Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Kyle was a six-time NBA All-Star in 2016 and was chosen to the NBA’s Third Team. Lowry and the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship for the first time in team’s history in 2019. He was also a member of the 2016 Summer Olympics gold-medal-winning United States national team.
Lowry played two seasons of collegiate basketball for the Villanova Wildcats before being picked in the first round of the 2006 NBA draught by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 24th overall choice. Before being transferred to Toronto, he began his NBA career with Memphis and the Houston Rockets. He helped the Raptors reach the playoffs for the first time in seven years and win the Atlantic Division title in his second season with the team in 2013–14. In 2015–16, he guided the Raptors to 56 victories, the most in franchise history, and he also helped the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time.
Lowry is widely considered by the fans as the greatest Toronto Raptor player of all time because of his role in transforming the organization from a post-Vince Carter wasteland to a serious NBA contender that won its first championship in 2019. Lowry led the Raptors to their greatest success, including two Eastern Conference Finals appearances and all five of their 50-win seasons. With Lowry at the helm, the Raptors consistently improved their victory totals.
