Warriors fans won’t have to wait long to see Klay Thompson back at Chase Center—this time, as an opponent. According to a report by The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Thompson is set to face off against his former team, the Golden State Warriors, for the first time as a member of the Dallas Mavericks on November 12.
Thompson, who signed a three-year, $50 million contract with the Mavericks this offseason, had been a cornerstone of the Warriors franchise for 13 years. Selected by Golden State as the No. 11 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the 34-year-old shooting guard won four championships with the team, solidifying his status as a Warriors legend.

The upcoming game will be a significant moment for both Klay Thompson and the Warriors faithful, as the Chase Center crowd will have the opportunity to welcome back one of their all-time greats. Despite now wearing different colors, Thompson’s contributions to the Warriors are far from forgotten. The organization has plans to retire his iconic No. 11 jersey in the future, likely alongside those of his longtime teammates Steph Curry and Draymond Green once all three have hung up their sneakers.
For now, though, Warriors fans can look forward to seeing Klay Thompson return on November 12, a night sure to be filled with nostalgia, respect, and perhaps a bit of friendly competition as he steps onto the court in San Francisco wearing Mavericks blue.
