Julian Phillips path to becoming a top-rated prospect started with many hours of hard work in the Blythewood gymnasium. His dedication led to success, allowing him to finish high school at Link Prep in Branson, Missouri, before deciding to spend a year at Tennessee.

College Success and NBA Draft

In college, Phillips rapidly established himself as a standout player, receiving SEC All-Freshman recognition while playing for the Tennessee Volunteers. At first, Phillips thought about joining the NCAA Transfer Portal, but in the end, he chose to remain in the NBA Draft. This choice turned out to be a good one, as the Boston Celtics picked him in the 35th spot in the 2023 NBA Draft, later trading him to the Chicago Bulls.

Professional Debut

Throughout the previous season, Phillips demonstrated his skills with the Bulls’ G-League squad, as well as participating in 40 games for the Bulls. His skillful displays on both platforms showcased his abilities and preparedness for more demanding tasks.

Preparing for the NBA Summer League

Currently, Phillips is preparing for the upcoming NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, set to begin next week. The yearly event is a crucial chance for young players to showcase their abilities and secure a spot in the NBA.

Giving Back to the Community

Following his time in the Summer League, Phillips will come back to Blythewood to organize his initial youth camp on July 25-26 at Muller Road Middle School. The camp, available for children between 6 and 14 years old, will be held at the school where Julian Phillips studied before becoming a highly sought-after prospect. This camp marks a complete cycle for Phillips, as he returns to the community that helped him grow in his early years.
