The Miami Heat pushed the Celtics to a decider in the Eastern Conference finals as Jimmy Butler scored 47 points
Veteran Jimmy Butler from Miami Heat claimed his sixth 40-point playoff game of his career. Moreover, this is his third one this season, registering 47 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and four seals. With Jimmy Butler’s terrific performance, Miami emerged victorious 111-103 in Game 6. His dagger 20-foot jump in the last moment gave the Heat a six-point lead as Celtics lost their control in the game. Injured Kyle Lowry contributed 18 points and 10 assists in 37 minutes for the Heat. He entirely changed the plans for Boston in the fourth quarter with five successive points.
Boston also played vigorously to give tough time to their opponent with the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Both players added 18 first-half points and finished with 30 and 20 respectively. Derrick White added 22 crucial point off the bench to give a massive boost in the second half. However, their 17 turnovers and 11 offensive rebounds allowed, plus Brown’s two late missed free throws, were too much to overcome.
Butler was the only player performing extraordinary in terms of assisting 10 of Miami’s 12 field goals and finishing the frame with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. However, Tatum became the most valuable player for Boston scoring nine points in second quarter. Apart from Tatum, Brown produced 11 successive points to give Celtics a 41-41 lead. Miami reached 16 points off Boston’s 12 first-half turnovers and eight second-half turnover. The Heat extended their lead with three-pointer by Victor Oladipo and Strus capped 11-0 run to gift them a 70-58 lead. Butler took the responsibility in the fourth quarter to put Miami back on the driving seat with 102-99. Butler’s terrific three-point play helped Miami to register a 111-103 lead.
