Jaylen Brown is having a year to remember. The Boston Celtics star not only played a pivotal role in securing the franchise’s 18th NBA championship in June but also earned the titles of Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP during the remarkable playoff run. However, Brown’s talents extend beyond the basketball court.
Recently, Jaylen Brown ventured into the music scene, collaborating with rapper Ferg on a new track titled “Just Do It.” While the title seemingly nods to his well-documented grievances with Nike, the song itself does not directly mention the brand. However, the music video does touch on the controversy involving Brown and Nike during the Olympics.
In July, speculation arose about whether Nike’s influence on Team USA’s Olympic basketball team led to Brown being left off the roster after Kawhi Leonard’s withdrawal. Instead, Brown’s teammate, Derrick White, was selected, fueling further debate.
As the Celtics prepare to kick off their title defense, they will report to training camp next month, with their season opener scheduled for October 22 against the New York Knicks. Brown’s off-court pursuits, combined with his on-court success, continue to add layers to his already impressive year.
