Charlotte Hornets President Jeff Peterson declared that the team has inked guard Isaiah Wong to a two-way deal. Though the terms are not revealed, the signing represents an important enhancement to the Hornets’ roster.
Dominating in the G League
Wong demonstrated his scoring ability with the Salt Lake City Stars this season, averaging an outstanding 26.1 points per game. He performed exceptionally with shooting percentages of 47.2% from the field, 42.1% from beyond the arc, and 86.1% at the charity stripe. Wong’s remarkable performance occurred on Nov. 20, when he exploded for a personal best of 41 points versus the Rip City Remix.
Proven Track Record in the G League
Throughout 52 G League games, Wong has established himself as a dependable playmaker, with averages of 17.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. His outstanding efforts secured him a place in the 2024 G League Up Next game, further establishing his status as a rising star.
A College Star Turned Pro
Prior to joining the NBA, Wong enjoyed an outstanding four-year tenure at the University of Miami. He received three All-ACC honors and concluded his college career by being named ACC Player of the Year for the 2022-23 season.
