In the bustling world of NBA coaching speculation, one name recently loomed large: Mike Budenholzer. Rumor has it, he had his sights set on a jaw-dropping contract to helm the Brooklyn Nets.
Inside the Brooklyn Nets’ Pursuit of Mike Budenholzer
As a result of insiders’ words told by Michael Scotto from HoopsHype and Brian Lewis from the New York Post Budenholzer was rumored to be considered for the Nets visionary decision of finding a new head coach. It was through the use of such sentences as log as the sky of New York that Lewis tried to imply the impact of Budenholzer’s demands. The exact sums apparently hung between pomp and circumspection, and for any of us who might be a bit rusty in the math department, we certainly had cause to write ‘WTF’ in flossy high heels.
The Governor of Nets, Joe Tsai, loved Budenholzer, who has a championship presented at his C.V. However, this is one of the harsh realities about the game. Although the Jets are one of the most mediocre of teams that would make you say “meh…” more than “wow…”, it is still quite extravagant to be spending so much money on a manager.
While the Nets’ initial decision was not exactly good, it turned out that they had picked a different way too. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed the chosen one: Goitín, who was an associate head coach for the Sacramento Kings before.
Fernandez now faces a squad that is picking up the pieces from a New York drama, where a superstar has left for the coast. Kim’s run as the head coach seemed hopeless because the powerlessness of trio champion Durant, Irving, and Harden removed the glimmer of hope that even an accomplished coach could have restored. The difficulties Jacque Vaughn experienced at the beginning and Kevin Ollie manage to do the interim period is a lesson for everyone that the task ahead must not be underestimated.
Budenholzer’s life seems to be a case of seesawing between such close calls. He elbowed his way through Cody Hazen, aka the Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Young, in the quest to scoop the most coveted coaching role. However, the deity had its own decision. The Trail Blazers for the then-young landed the opportunity of the then-young Budenholzer elsewhere in the cold.
But despite Budenholzer feeling insecure, his coaching has proven to be one that eloquently speaks. As a manifestation his track record—leading the Atlanta Hawks to playoff superiority and directing them to NBA’s title as well as with the Milwaukee bucks—is quite clear. You might think that Nets moving on might be an end point for coach Budenholzer, but this is not the case. More so, on the basketball field you come across a clearest mirror of life in the sense that, your every miss is just a stepping stone to your next goal.
