Herbert Jones, a young player deserving of more respect and was overlooked in NBA 2K25.However, Zion Williamson was the top-rated player on the team. The New Orleans Pelicans’ potential core looks bright, as multiple players have achieved top-100 rankings in NBA 2K25.

A Key Player for the Pelicans

Herbert Jones, drafted in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft, promptly became an important player in the Pelicans’ lineup. Jones, recognized for his strong defensive skills, has been gradually enhancing his offensive abilities. In the 2023-24 season, he achieved his highest career scoring average of 11 points per game, mostly due to a notable improvement in his 3-point shooting. Jones’ three-point shooting improved significantly to an impressive 41.8%, compared to his past performances.

Underappreciated in NBA 2K25

Even though Jones showed improvement, the NBA 2K25 ratings team did not acknowledge his deserved recognition. His total score of 82 seems like a disservice to his efforts, particularly in defense. Grant Hughes from Bleacher Report emphasized that Jones is impossible to screen, has great length, is disruptive, and is more powerful than one might expect. During the previous season, he ranked second in Estimated Wins behind Zion Williamson for the Pelicans. Futhermore, he limited opponents to a shooting percentage of just 44% as their main defender.

A Season for Respect

If Jones can enhance his skills in shooting 3-pointers. He will likely begin to receive the recognition that he already deserves in society. As Jones continues to deliver impressive performances. Moreover, his player rating in NBA 2K will likely increase due to the updates made throughout the season. Currently, Herbert Jones is still considered as one of the NBA’s lesser-known young players, both in the sport and during matches.
