Germany are enjoying a great home tournament as they took second place. The team showed quality efforts in the playoffs. Germany produced 73 shots with 49.3% accuracy as they smashed Greece (107-96) in the quarter-final. Germany had an incredible accuracy in three-point shots which helped them to take over Greece.
Spain outplayed Finland in their recent fixture to make their way to the semi-final. Spain dominated in the attack and produced extraordinary shorts to take a 10-point lead over Finland. They made 72 shots and scored 37 of them; however, Finland barely finished 55% of only 56 shots successfully. Finland took the lead with 37 rebounds under their basket as Spain claimed 10 fewer points.
Head-to-Head:
Germany haven’t been able to beat Spain since 2005. The last head-to-head took place in 2017 in the quarterfinals of EuroBasket when Spain eliminated the opposition with (84-78) points. Despite the loss, Dennis Schroder was the second-best player of the match with 27 points, four rebounds and seven assists.
Players to watch out
In the previous two games, as well as the most recent match against Spain, Dennis Schroder scored the most goals for his team. In this tournament, Schroder has averaged more than 20 points each game.
Each game in the 2022 EuroBasket saw at least 14 points from Willy Hernangomez. In the quarterfinal and the eighth final, he became the second-best player.
Prediction:
Germany have displayed a challenging game in the tournament. They have emerged victorious on six out of seven matches in EuroBasket 2022. Spain haven’t delivered the same potential in this tournament; however, they hold notable records against Germany. Spain have a higher chance of clinching the victory if they manage to dominate in the first half.
