Dillon Jones had a standout performance in the Salt Lake City Summer League, leading the Thunder to a dominant 98-75 victory over the Utah Jazz at Delta Center with a game-leading 21 points.
Thunder’s Strong Start
The Thunder began the game strongly, taking a 29-16 lead by the conclusion of the first quarter. Even though the Jazz stepped up their game in the second quarter, Oklahoma City managed to keep their momentum going, increasing their lead to 18 points by halftime.
Maintaining Control
In the third quarter, although the pace decreased slightly, the Thunder maintained their dominance, holding a 23-point lead going into the last quarter. Even though the Jazz put up a strong fight in the final quarter, the Thunder’s lead was too large to overcome, resulting in a 23-point win.
Stellar Performances
Jones spearheaded the Thunder’s attack, making an impressive 7 out of 8 shots from the field. He added seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal to his contributions. Ousmane Dieng contributed 20 points along with five rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block. Kyle Kelly contributed seven points, eight rebounds, and one block.
Jazz’s Efforts
Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Brice Sensabaugh both contributed 18 points each to lead the Jazz. Jason Preston contributed 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Kyle Filipowski had a hand in four points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Looking Ahead
Both teams will conclude their participation in the Salt Lake City Summer League on Wednesday. The Thunder will go up against the Grizzlies, while the Jazz will challenge the 76ers.
Dillon Jones excellent display not only showcases his abilities but also creates a favorable atmosphere for the Thunder as they cultivate their young players in the Summer League.
