After two games, Germany and France now stand as the only two teams undefeated in Group B. The two teams will clash on Friday to determine the group winner.
The matchup featured three ties and eight lead changes before Germany’s defense took control. The Germans held Brazil to just 41% shooting for the game.
Yago Santos led Brazil with 18 points, while Vitor Benite contributed 17. Brazil now faces a 0-2 record, joining Japan at the bottom of the standings. Brazil will next play against Japan in hopes of securing their first win.
After scoring only 10 points in the first quarter, Brazil managed to outscore Germany 30-18 to even the score by halftime. However, Germany tightened up defensively in the third quarter, limiting Brazil to just 11 points and eventually building a lead of up to 16 points in the final period.
