Damian Lillard Responds to Reports, Knicks' Protest Rejected
Damian Lillard, recently traded from Portland to Milwaukee, has pushed back against media reports suggesting he feels lonely in his new team. In an interview with Chris Mannix, Lillard opened up about the challenges of being away from his family and the adjustment to life in Milwaukee. However, Damian Lillard clarified on social media reports that they were blowing out his comments, emphasizing that he was just fine.

Knicks’ Protest Rejected

The NBA has officially rejected the New York Knicks’ protest regarding a foul called against Jalen Brunson in their February 13 loss to the Houston Rockets. The Knicks had contested the result of the game due to the admitted incorrect foul call, which led to two free throws for the Rockets’ Aaron Holiday with 0.3 seconds remaining. However, the league determined that while there was an error in judgment by game officials, it did not constitute a misapplication of the playing rules, thus denying the protest.

Implications for the Knicks

The rejection of the protest means that the Knicks will not have the opportunity to replay the game against the Rockets. Additionally, The league will charge the team $10,000 for the unsuccessful protest. Looking ahead, Jalen Brunson remains questionable for the Knicks’ upcoming game against the Warriors, while Andrew Wiggins is ruled out for the Warriors due to personal reasons.

Alec Burks’ Shooting Struggles

Veteran guard Alec Burks has been experiencing shooting struggles, particularly from beyond the arc, in recent games for the Knicks. Despite receiving open looks, Burks has struggled to convert, shooting 31.4% in seven games since joining the team. Head coach Tom Thibodeau acknowledged the importance of Burks’ shooting for the team’s success but emphasized the need for improved efficiency moving forward.
