Curry contacts Durant: What’s Cooking?

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant’s future landing is still uncertain following his request for a way out from the Brooklyn Nets before the upcoming season. Several teams had shown willingness to sign Durant, Including the Golden State Warriors being the potential contenders. They seem very keen to sign Durant and make the reunion happen as the star had made his NBA debut with the Warriors in 2017. Although his time in the Nets was not so shiny, he won two NBA titles in 2017 and 2018, playing with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green for the Warriors.

Journalist Ric Bucher claimed that the great Curry has spoken to Durant about the possibility of his reunion with the Warriors in the upcoming season of the NBA 2022-2023.

Bucher told the media, “A league source says Curry has reached out several times to Durant, eager to improve his chances of winning a fifth championship and surpassing LeBron James.”

The Reunion and Stephen Curry’s response

Curry and Durant allegedly got together in Tahoe to discuss Durant’s re-joining the Warriors.

During a media briefing with the NBC Sports Bay Area, Curry told that “The rumor mill and all that stuff is part of the nature of the NBA and league.”

“You take it for what it is. You know how quickly things can change, but I like where we’re at.”

Will Brooklyn Trade Durant?

Well, that seems unlikely as the Brooklyn Nets are reluctant to let any player leave under any circumstances. Meanwhile, several reports suggest that the Nets are demanding first-round draught picks and players with All-Star potential. Durant’s trade request caused controversy, and now it is uncertain for him to be traded as the Nets’ commissioner Adam Silver had previously stated that he is against players who ask for a way out. Especially against those who had years left in their contracts and KD in one of them.

On the other hand, the Warriors had enough assets to put a perfect deal on the table. Among them is James Wiseman, who was the number two pick in the 2020 draft but unfortunately, he missed the last season because of an injury.
