The Cleveland Cavaliers made history by becoming only the fourth team in NBA history to begin a season 15-0. Their dominant streak continued with a 128-114 win against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night.

Garland and Jerome Lead the Way

Darius Garland scored 25 points to lead the team, while Ty Jerome, filling in for Donovan Mitchell, matched his career best with 24 points. Evan Mobley scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Jarrett Allen had 21 points and 15 rebounds, displaying the Cavaliers’ well-rounded offense.

Joining Elite Company

The Cleveland Cavaliers are now part of an exclusive group that includes the 2016 Golden State Warriors, 1994 Houston Rockets, and 1949 Washington Capitols, all of whom started 15-0. All three prior teams made it to the NBA Finals, and the Rockets emerged as the champions.

A New Standard for Cleveland

During the reigns of LeBron James or Mark Price and Brad Daugherty, the Cavs never started a season as dominantly as this. This season’s roster, with All-Stars Garland, Mitchell, and Allen, alongside up-and-coming talent Evan Mobley, has cemented its status as a dominant force. The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently ranked second in point differential with a +12.3 and perform well on offense, making 50% of their shots overall and 42.4% from the three-point line when their main group is on the court.

Garland’s Resurgence Fuels Success

Garland’s comeback has been essential for Cleveland’s victory. Following injuries and getting used to Mitchell joining the team last season, the ex-All-Star has finally found his groove. His leadership skills on the basketball court have been instrumental in taking the team to greater levels of success.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will encounter their most challenging opponent to date. Moreover, when they travel to play defending champions Boston on Tuesday. With their flawless beginning, Cleveland Cavaliers has shown they are not only contenders. Furthermore, but also possible frontrunners in the NBA this year.
