Caitlin Clark continues to make record in her rookie season with the Indiana Fever. On Friday night, she set the WNBA single-season assists record, reaching an impressive 317 assists. This achievement surpassed Alyssa Thomas’s previous record of 316, set just last year.
A Record-Breaking Moment
In a game against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark made the record-breaking assist with under five minutes remaining. She delivered a perfect inbounds pass to teammate Kelsey Mitchell, who drove to the basket for a layup. This assist gave Clark her fifth of the night and etched her name in WNBA history once again.
Topping the Leaderboard
Clark’s 322 assists across 38 games now stand as the highest in WNBA history. She outpaced not only Thomas but also Courtney Vandersloot and Chelsea Gray, both of whom held notable spots in the record books. Clark’s ability to consistently create scoring opportunities for her teammates showcases her elite playmaking skills.
A Season of Milestones
This assist record is just one of many for the standout rookie. Earlier this season, Caitlin Clark set the single-game assists record with 19 in a match against the Dallas Wings. She also broke the rookie assists record previously held by Ticha Penicheiro and the Indiana Fever’s franchise record.
Dominating the Court
Beyond assists, Clark is proving to be a versatile threat. She averages 19.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and leads the league with 8.4 assists per game. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft has quickly become one of the league’s brightest stars, and her future looks even brighter.
Caitlin Clark is a force to be reckoned with.
