Former Brazilian basketball sensation Bruno Caboclo, who had a stint for the Brazilian team in the recently concluded Paris 2024 Olympics, had reportedly been training with the Golden State Warriors in a bid to earn a contract with the NBA. Caboclo’s agent, Daniel Hazan, said in an interview with Sports Channel, Israel that, “He is training with the Golden State till Thursday with an aim of getting a contract, and he is very confident he will get the deal.”
Being an Olympic standout
Caboclo was spectacular at the 2024 Paris Olympics, scoring 17.3 points per game which placed them 12th overall in the whole tournament. He played very well in the game against Team USA, despite the teams loss he scored 30 points. His Olympic success stirred up hope again on his professional basketball and the possibility of a comeback to the NBA.
Caboclo Heads to Israel
Nevertheless, with the Warriors, Caboclo tried his strengths, although, on Thursday, it was claimed that he would join the basketball team of Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel. Hoops Rumors’ Luke Adams also reported the news, and the Israeli club shared information about the signing on Twitter. This is as per a report relayed by Sportando that the contract signed between the two parties spans two years, although the second year is a team option.
An Experienced NBA Veteran
A first-round NBA draft pick for the Toronto Raptors in 2014, Caboclo has said that his NBA games experience is to his credit, with 105 NBA games played. Hapoel Tel Aviv also brought NBA free agent Patrick Beverley this summer, and the team improved even further with the signing of Caboclo. As Caboclo’s journey in the NBA is still a subject of change, his experience in Israel can be regarded as a new chapter in the life of the 28-year-old forward.
For now, Bruno Caboclo will be taking his Olympic sample skills to Israel’s basketball league, hoping to make a powerful and positive impact.
