In a nod to his impactful tenure with the franchise, the Brooklyn Nets have announced plans to retire Vince Carter’s No. 15 jersey next season. Carter, a legendary figure in basketball history, left an indelible mark during his time with the Nets, then based in New Jersey, from 2004 to 2009.

Throughout his term of working with the Nets, Carter was nominated to the All-Star five times and led the team to the playoffs on three times. The defunct statesman’s achievements on and off the court left a lasting imprint on the organization.

The list also includes some famous people, like Bill Russell, who is known as No-No Man. 12 of the 6 jerseys are retired in the league, and Carter’s old teammate Jason Kidd, whose No. 12 is also retired leaguewide, is one of them. 5 jersey were put into the retired list by the franchise in 2013. Besides the other great players, there are also Drazen Petrovic, John Williamson, Bill Melchionni, Julius Erving, and Buck Williams, who were also honored.
