O’Neal is recognized for his bold comments, and his most recent statements have ignited discussion throughout the basketball community. While fans wonder about next move of Shaquille O’Neal if Inside The NBA concludes, the iconic center remains a constant topic of discussion due to his outspoken views on the current state of basketball.

Calling Out the “Worst” Players

In a video with his son Myles O’Neal for Complex, Shaq didn’t hesitate when asked to identify the most terrible basketball players in history. Much to everyone’s astonishment, he mentioned two current NBA players: Rudy Gobert and Ben Simmons. O’Neal slammed them for not fulfilling their lucrative contracts, declaring, “If you sign a $250 million deal, prove you’re worth $250 million.”

Shaq is frustrated because he thinks players nowadays are not putting in full effort. He revealed that even though he made $120 million throughout his career, he put his body on the line for the sport. Compared to this, he believes Gobert and Simmons are not living up to the expectations.

Criticism Aimed at Big Contracts and Limited Play

Despite his accomplishments, Gobert has still come under criticism, despite being a three-time NBA All-Star and four-time Defensive Player of the Year. In the meantime, Simmons has faced challenges due to injuries and erratic displays. The primary concern O’Neal has with these players is that they only seem to play when it is absolutely required. Which is frustrating for him as someone who dedicated all of his efforts to the game.

Although Shaq’s comments may be seen as harsh by some, he firmly believes in his opinions. He emphasized the fact that many professionals. Such as teachers and firefighters, put in a lot of effort but receive low pay.

Shaq’s Opinions Will Continue

O’Neal has consistently made bold comments, whether they are about basketball or other subjects. Being one of the most influential figures in NBA history, his opinions hold significance. Hopefully, we will keep hearing his opinions, whether on Inside The NBA or other outlets.
