Alfonzo McKinnie a former Warriors player inks deal with New team, who enjoyed a standout season in the NBA, has secured a contract with Dinamo Sassari. McKinnie’s journey to the NBA was unconventional, as he initially went undrafted in 2015 following four college basketball seasons split between Eastern Illinois and Green Bay.

Since his NBA debut in 2018, McKinnie has embarked on a five-season career in the league, playing for the Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls. During the 2021-22 season, the 31-year-old last suited up in the NBA with the Bulls, where he averaged 3.5 points and 1.9 rebounds per game, shooting 39.3% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
In the preceding year, McKinnie honed his skills in the G League, posting stats of 13.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. His shooting percentages stood at 40.5% from the field and 26.3% from three-point territory across 25 regular season games, along with 16 Showcase Cup appearances.
With free agency on the horizon this summer, McKinnie remained unsigned until Thursday when he officially put pen to paper with Dinamo Sassari.

The pinnacle of McKinnie’s career unfolded with the Warriors during the 2018-19 season. In that remarkable year, he averaged 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, boasting shooting percentages of 48.7% from the field and 35.6% from long range across 72 regular season games. He also made 22 appearances in the NBA playoffs, with the Warriors ultimately falling to the Raptors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
Throughout his 182 regular season games, McKinnie maintained career averages of 4.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 46.7% from the field and 32.6% from three-point range. He also participated in 24 NBA playoff games during his tenure.
