Iran's Confidence for FIBA 2023 World Cup

Iran is exuding confidence for the upcoming FIBA World Cup 2023, as stated by the International Basketball Federation Iran’s confidence for FIBA entering this year’s world cup can lead to a promising season for Iran. The Iranian national team showcased a robust performance during their training camp, securing two victories.

Notably, one of these triumphs was achieved through an overtime win against Venezuela, just prior to the commencement of the World Cup, while the other was an eight-point victory over Jordan, held in Georgia.

These significant victories have instilled a profound sense of assurance within the Iranian team that is the core of Iran’s confidence for FIBA, especially as they gear up to confront Ivory Coast. Nevertheless, the competition will be fierce, as they find themselves grouped alongside Spain and Brazil in Group G. The journey to the Sweet 16 undoubtedly poses a formidable challenge.

Remarkably, this marks Iran’s fourth consecutive participation in the World Cup. Their closest brush with reaching the top 16 was in 2010 when they finished in the 19th position.

Under the guidance of Hakan Demir, Iran’s team is slated to go head-to-head with Brazil in their opening match on August 26. Subsequently, they will cross paths with the Ivory Coast on August 28 and Spain on August 30, all set to unfold in Jakarta, Indonesia.
