In a trade with the Memphis Hustle, David Stockton’s returning player rights were purchased by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Indiana Pacers NBA G League club. In return, Memphis obtains a first-round pick in the 2023 NBA G League Draft, the returning player rights to Derrick Walton Jr., Kenny Williams, and both of their contracts.

As of 2014, Stockton has experience playing in the NBA G League. Stockton played for the South Bay Lakers, Reno Bighorns, Memphis Hustle, as well as teams in Croatia, New Zealand, Bavaria, and Puerto Rico before joining the Memphis Hustle for the 2021 and 2021–2022 seasons.

In 198 games over seven NBA G League seasons, Stockton has averaged 16.8 points, 6.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He scored 20.1 points per game in his first campaign with Reno in 2014–15. In 2015, Stockton was named to the G League’s All-Rookie 2nd Team and was named the league’s Performer of the Week on March 9.

In the Russell Westbrook trade talks, the Pacers were interested in Talen Horton-Tucker

It appears that trading Myles Turner and Buddy Hield to Indiana for Russell Westbrook would be the finest move the Lakers could make to try to win this season. It’s noteworthy to remember that the Pacers reportedly tried to acquire Talen Horton-Tucker before the Lakers sold him to Utah in exchange for Patrick Beverley. In essence, Indiana intended to get Westbrook’s expiring deal, the Lakers’ first-round picks in 2027 and 2029, Horton-Tucker, and Hield in exchange for Turner and Westbrook. They also wanted to force the Lakers to select Daniel Theis, who had some time remaining on his contract.

The “most likely” destinations for Russell Westbrook are the Pacers and Utah

It’s been rumored that Utah and Indiana are the most potential destinations for Westbrook. According to the sources, Utah is more probable than Indiana. There are various combinations with Indiana where Myles Turner and Buddy Hield individually or together could play. The Lakers are reportedly still hesitant to add that second first-round pick. Perhaps it will alter as we get closer to training camp. If Kyrie Irving had been still available, I’m sure things would have changed.
