In a late off-season move, LA Lakers made a surprising move where it successfully pulled in Patrick Beverley of Utah Jazz. The trade happened after Talen Horton Tucker and Stanley Johnson made way to Utah Jazz and make room for the time and tested veteran guard Patrick Beverley.
Beverly is a key addition to the Lakers as his recent run in the NBA is bejeweled with great performances. He is the key contributor to Minnesota Timberwolves’ return to the playoffs in the previous season. He took to the court in 54 games with an average points of 9.2. 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. His shooting was also impressive with 34.3% accuracy in 3-pointers. He was part of the five-player five-pick package for Rudy Gobert. However, he will bypass Utah without wearing the jersey.
With this trade in effect, Beverly will play alongside Russell Westbrook. Both players have had a bumpy ride with each other in the past. As for Tucker he plateaued in Lakers and the only way to break it was to move forward.
Patrick Beverly also took to Twitter after the confirmation of the news.
