Coming back to the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Brooklyn Nets coach Jordi Fernandez secured a challenging victory against his former coach Mike Brown’s Kings, with a score of 108-103. Demonstrating his leadership abilities, Fernandez, a former associate head coach for Brown, led Brooklyn to a crucial win on the road.

Cam Thomas Shines for Brooklyn

Brooklyn’s Cam Thomas stood out by scoring 34 points, making a significant impact on the game against a tough Kings team. Although Domantas Sabonis, a Lithuanian star, scored 13 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, the Kings still lost. Jordi Fernandez made tactical changes and his team’s well-rounded performance led to Brooklyn Nets earning their seventh victory of the season.

European Stars in Action

European athletes left a significant impact on the NBA games played on Sunday. Ivica Zubac from Croatia scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Clippers defeat the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 125-99. Despite Rudy Gobert’s impressive 10-point, 20-rebound performance, Minnesota still fell short in a close 107-105 defeat against Boston.

In the meantime, the Toronto Raptors, led by Serbian coach Darko Rajakovic, were defeated 122-108 by the top-ranked Cleveland Cavaliers. Austrian Jakob Poeltl made a strong impression with 12 points, 19 rebounds, and two blocks despite the loss.

Heat Triumph in Overtime

In Miami, Jimmy Butler scored 33 points – his highest this season – which helped the Heat secure a 123-118 overtime win against Dallas, highlighted by a game-tying dunk. The Mavericks were without Luka Doncic, a Slovenian star, because of a wrist injury, as Swedish forward Pelle Larsson contributed 14 points for Miami.

Standings Update

Cleveland is at the top of the Eastern Conference with an impressive 17-1 record, while Boston follows closely with 14-3. In the Western Conference, Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State are tied for first place with a record of 12-4. Brooklyn’s victory puts them in a three-way deadlock for seventh place in the Eastern Conference, allowing Play-In chances to remain possible.

Under Fernandez’s guidance, the Nets demonstrate their ability to adjust and contend, showcasing their promise.
