The San Antonio Spurs are gearing up for a potentially game-altering Spurs’ 2025 Draft Picks, with up to four selections in their arsenal. What’s at stake? The chance to land two elite talents, and perhaps set the stage for their next championship run.

Will Spurs’ 2025 Draft Picks Change the Franchise Forever?

With the rights to their own selection, plus a lottery pick from the Atlanta Hawks and protected picks from the Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Hornets, the Spurs are positioned for a major draft haul. A recent projection from The Sporting News has the Spurs using their first two picks—ninth and tenth overall—to draft Egor Demin and Kon Knueppel, both of whom have the potential to reshape the team’s future.

Egor Demin, a towering 6’9” point guard from BYU, could be a true gem. Hailing from Russia, he’s already turning heads with his advanced playmaking ability and defensive versatility. Averaging 19 points, 9 assists, and 2 steals per game, Demin has shown he can run an offense with ease—though his outside shooting remains a work in progress. At 6-12 from three-point range in his first two games, his shooting could be streaky. But if he keeps up his current form, he may be long gone by the time the Spurs pick at nine.

Why is he so valuable? Demin could slot into the Spurs’ starting lineup from day one, playing alongside the likes of Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell. His size, vision, and defensive prowess would make him a perfect fit as the new floor general, taking over from the aging Chris Paul.

Enter Kon Knueppel, a 6’6” shooting guard from Duke, who could be the perfect counterbalance to Demin’s shooting struggles. Known for his pure shooting stroke, Knueppel is hitting a scorching 50% from beyond the arc early in the season. With a deadly spot-up game, he’s averaging 18.5 points through just two games and could be a major asset to the Spurs’ offense.

While Knueppel’s athleticism might not wow scouts in terms of explosive dunks, his ability to score from almost anywhere on the floor will make him a dangerous weapon in the Spurs’ offense. A trio of Wembanyama, Vassell, and Knueppel could provide San Antonio with an offensive juggernaut, built on versatility and sharp shooting.

The Spurs have some serious decisions ahead. Should they keep both picks, or trade them for a more established superstar? Given the talent in this loaded draft class, it seems unlikely that San Antonio will pass up the chance to add two potential future stars to their roster.

But then again, there’s always the temptation to swing for the fences and land a proven player. Only time will tell if the Spurs choose to build through the draft or leverage these picks for a bigger trade. Whatever the outcome, one thing is clear: the 2025 NBA Draft could be a defining moment for the Spurs’ franchise.
