This move signifies that James, a newcomer from Tennessee, now has his G League rights owned by the Indiana Mad Ants.
James’ Path to the G League
James took part in pre-draft training sessions for the Pacers and competed in the summer league, where he maintained an average of 1.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. While he didn’t make the main roster after his summer league showing, his athleticism and college background (scoring 10.3 points per game at Tennessee) make him a great fit for the Mad Ants. This decision enables him to enhance his abilities in the G League.
Pacers’ G League Team Takes Shape
James is accompanied in this transition. The Pacers have both signed and released additional players this summer on contracts that are comparable, such as Cameron McGriff, Kyle Mangas, Dakota Mathias, Keisei Tominaga, and Tyler Polley.
